 Indoor Hitting is available.  Coach Sandusky has arranged for any of the girls that are planning on playing this spring to hit indoors.  Try and get as many girls as you can to go up.

 

Coach running the hitting sessions is:   Coach Chuck Parker

Place: YMCA annex  (the old Sam's Club building next to Menard's in Portage )

Day:  Sunday's

Time:  4:30pm - 6:00pm

Cost:  $5 to $7 each time

 

Let Coach Sandusky know if you are planning on going to the YMCA.  We need to let Caoch Parker know about how many girls will be taking advantage of this. Also, if a different day/time is better let him know that too ( Coach's contact info is on the "Contact Us" page )

Tennis Awards and Clothing: We will be meeting on Monday, November 14th, right after school in the cafeteria.

 

I believe everyone has something coming to them, so make it a point to stop by to pick your stuff up. It will only take a minute or two. If you ordered clothes please bring your payment with you.

Tennis Awards Banquet/Cook-out:  We are going to try and have the Tennis banquet (Cook out) on Thursday, October 20th @ 5:30pm at the High School Courts (Weather permiting). 2011 Boys Conference Tournament: As a team we had a very good tournament. With three flights getting into the medal rounds and the others getting some key wins. We were able to take home 5th place in the tournament.  CONGRATULATIONS goes out to Yuchen Wu (Jimi) for winning the championship at 1st singles. and to Zach Turner for a third place finish and to Dylan Hough for a fourth place finish.

To the girls that did not make it to the Awards banquet, either Coach Sandusky or Coach Turner has a season stat book and a certificate for participation for each player (some of the girls have Varsity or JV letters and/or other awards coming also). Please email your coach to make arrangements to get the above items to you. 

 

 

Tennis Awards Banquet:  The Varsity and JV Awards Banquet (potluck / cook-out) will be held at the High School Tennis Courts @ 5:00 pm on June 14th.  All team members please get in contact with either Carrie or Hilary for info on what kind of dish to bring (so we don't have 40 of the same thing) and how many will be coming with you.  Family members are welcome to come.  Bring chairs, your racquet and a dish to pass.

Congratulations: 2 Singles, Ashley Boyer for a second place finish at the Varsity Conference Tournament and to the 3rd Doubles team of Melanie Mallo / Michelle Mallo for a 3rd place finish and to 1 Singles,Carrie Foura for a 4th place finish. The team finished 4th in the tournament and ended up tied for 4th overall for the season.

Girls and Boys Tennis players:  Physicals for the 2011-2012 school year. The Athletic Department has set up May 6th, non school day, as totally a day at PAWS Clinic for our students to get their sports physicals for next school year.  Students will need to schedule an appointment through the Athletic Department for this day only.  There are flyers in the middle school and high school offices. The cost is again $16 and they MUST have an appointment.  PAWS is never a walk in clinic, appointments are always necessary.

 

 

 

 

 

2010 Boys Wolverine Conference Tournament:  Good job guys.  Everyone (all 8 flights) finished the tournament either equal to or improved their position from where they where seeded.

REGIONAL TOURNAMENT: 5/20/10

Congratulations to Carrie and Holly.  Carrie placed second at 4S and Holly at 3S made it to the semi-finals before losing.

 

 

CONFERENCE TOURNAMENT: 5/15/10

Congratulations, to a third place Team finish.  On a day that TR had prom and the day long Conference Tounament. It made for a very long and strenuous day for the girl's, knowing that they had prom conflicts and at the same time needed to be playing their best to have a good showing at the tournament for the team to reach it's season goal and their own goals in the Conference Tournament.  Again Congrats, and well done.

The Boy's 2010 Fall Tennis schedule is now being worked on and match dates are being add. You can check it out ( Here ) . This will give you an idea of what the schedule will look like.  Just remember the schedule could change several times before the season gets started.

 First practice is August 11th.

 For the most up to date team happenings Coach Sandusky has established a facebook page that he will keep updated on more of the last minute things.   We encourage all team members and parents to use both this web site and the facebook page to keep updated.  You will need to join facebook and then do a search for "Three Rivers Tennis Teams" to join.  Follow instructions to join, and then you can have access to the most up to date info.

 

 

 

 

Fundraiser(s):  We are looking for idea's for a fundraiser or two for the tennis team.  We would like to come up with something unique, that the other school programs don't already do. If you have an idea please let one of the coaches know about it.
